Leave Kampala early in the morning and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is about a 5-6 hour drive.
Enjoy a game drive in the park in the afternoon, where you might spot various wildlife such as elephants, buffalos, antelopes, and hopefully, tree-climbing lions.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start the day with a morning game drive to increase your chances of spotting the elusive tree-climbing lions.
In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This boat trip offers excellent opportunities for bird watching and observing hippos, crocodiles, and other animals along the shores.
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the home of the mountain gorillas. The journey takes around 4-5 hours.
Once you arrive, check-in at your accommodation near the park and have some time to relax and prepare for the gorilla trekking experience.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Early morning, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking rules and regulations.
Embark on a guided gorilla trek through the lush forest, seeking out one of the habituated Gorilla groups.
Spend a magical hour observing and photographing the gorillas in their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to the park headquarters, receive your gorilla trekking certificate, and then drive back to Kampala or Entebbe for your departure.
