murchison falls holiday, Tour Details

Murchison falls holiday will take you through Luweero Triangle, at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will be able to track Rhinos. There is an initiative that is trying to reintroduce them back into the wild. This tour will then get you to enjoy Uganda’s best dishes like Matooke, chicken luwombo, g-nuts etc. while in Masindi town for a Lunch stop-over. Murchison falls – which is Uganda’s largest & oldest park has a number of interesting activities like Game drives, Birding, launch trips, hiking & nature walks and Fishing. Bisected the Victoria Nile, this park has the most remarkable wildlife spectacles. A boat trip on the Nile will get you close to the base of falls and also spot a number of birds, hippos & crocodiles. Later on, you will have an opportunity to relax at one of Uganda’s most luxurious lodges – Chobe.

 

Itinerary

Day 1 Drive to Murchison falls park

After breakfast at your hotel/ residence, begin the Murchison falls holiday with a panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle. Stop en route at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see Rhinos being reintroduced to the area. Then on to Masindi Town for lunch. Later proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, stopping at the spectacular ‘top of the falls’ where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from 50 meters to squeeze through a 7-meter canyon dropping 50 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile.

Day 2 Early morning game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile.

Your guide will help you spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream on the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. En- route, marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over this 19 km stretch you will see many animals including elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This riverine zone is also home for many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, Brown pelican, Red-throated bee-eater, various kingfishers, Fish eagles, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. After taking shots of photogenic Murchison Falls, return to your accommodation.

Day 3Morning Game drive & Relax at Chobe

After Breakfast, we check out from Paraa Safari Lodge and start with a morning game drive that will end at the Chobe Safari Lodge in time for lunch. Spend the whole afternoon relaxed at the lodge enjoying the luxurious amenities offered.

Day 4Transfer back to Kampala

Early morning, after your breakfast at the lodge, your tour guide / driver will pick you up and then transfer back to Kampala via Masindi town and that will be the end of your Murchison falls holiday.
